Personal Music History: Bob earned his BS in Music Education at Florida State University. FSU provided a rich set of musical experiences: from Marching Chiefs, Symphonic Band, University and State Symphonies, Lab Band, to brass ensemble. He connected with the Musicians Union early on and played many one-niters with major dance orchestras traveling through the area from New York and Miami.

As a graduate assistant at UT Austin, Bob studied score reading under Von Kreisler. He taught in Texas schools at the middle school and senior level, directing band, orchestra and choir. During a tour of duty in the Air Force Band of the West, Bob played trombone,  piano, arranged, and began playing gigs on the string bass and bass guitar.

A Masters in C & I opened the door to a position at the Texas Education Agency, where Bob took the lead in planning a satellite-based communications system for state and local agencies. A career in AT&T and the Bell system ensued. Bob retired in 1998 from Nortel Networks. Also, he was a Professor of Engineering Technology and is currently a Technology Consultant.

Bob currently sings in his church choir and plays trombone in the New Horizons Band.
