The New Horizons Band - Dallas (NHBD) is a volunteer, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) Association. The Association has over 50 active members and is growing steadily.
NHBD provides two band programs for people ages 50+ who play or want to learn a wind or percussion instrument.
NHBD has two bands, the New Horizons Concert Band and UpSwing, NHBD 's Stage Band. Both bands play for a variety of events in the Greater Dallas area.
The Concert Band plays traditional band music, e.g., marches, patriotic tunes, collections from Broadway musicals. love songs, popular music and contemporary children's songs for children's groups.
UpSwing performs for senior centers, retirement facilities, and events such as meetings and receptions. The group plays rock, swing, jazz and Latin music of the Big Band era.
